eos Smooth ball Lip Balm collection

happy Easter!
Today I thought I would show you my eos Smooth ball Lip Balm collection, since they look like bit Easter eggs!

Don’t they?
I own 16 of the eos spheres, provided here roughly in the buy of my preference:
1) Honeysuckle Honeydew (light turquoise)
2) sweet Mint (light green)
3) Coconut cream (light pink swirl)
4) Watermelon Wonderland (red)
5) St. Bart’s Sunrise / Pink Grapefruit (coral pink)
6) Blueberry Potion (blue)
7) sweet Vanilla Nonsense (ivory)
8) passion Fruit (purple)
9) Pomegranate Raspberry (plum)
10) Barbados heat / Wildberry (berry)
11) summer Fruit (deep pink)
12) Indian summer / Orange blossom (dark orange)
13) Vanilla Mint (light blue swirl)
14) Aloha Hawaii / Strawberry Kiwi (crimson)
15) Lemon drop (yellow)
16) Medicated Tangerine (orange)

Yes, I have a lot of these, but at least I’m not such as this girl with 176 of them.

Not shown is the Strawberry Sorbet (solid light pink) since it is my least much-loved flavour. I find the scent very artificial and unappealing, so I don’t keep it around.  It’s such a bummer that eos includes Strawberry Sorbet in just about every special multi-packs – so I just avoid getting them.

L to R: Blueberry Potion, Watermelon Wonderland, sweet Vanilla Nonsense – from the Alice in Wonderland set. notice the Micky mouse outline imprinted – between the scents and design, it’s my much-loved eos set ever!
eos lip balls cost approx $4 and are now available at most drugstores and mass vendors including Walmart and Loblaws / Superstores.  I have not chosen up the Blueberry Acai or the new Fresh Watermelon flavours since I already had the Blueberry Potion and Watermelon Wonderland from the Alice in Wonderland collection, I never felt they were different enough to warrant having both versions.

Rachel Roy holiday trio with 3 limited edition flavours: Aloha Hawaii (Strawberry Kiwi), St. Bart’s Sunrise (Pink Grapefruit) and Indian summer (Orange Blossom).  My much-loved of the bunch is the pink grapefruit.

Rachel Roy limited edition single in Barbados heat (Wildberry) – all of Rachel Roy’s lip balls have an etched wing design around the eos logo.

A bit more information about the eos lip spheres:

Launched in 2009

Key ingredients: olive oil, beeswax, coconut oil, jojoba oil, shea butter

Petrolatum & paraben free

Not checked on animals

Here’s a good Racked article discussing the allure of eos lip spheres.

The newest addition to my collection – Medicated Orange – a friend gotten it for me as a surprise.  Too bad it tastes like chemicals. (click to enlarge for ingredient list)
In terms of hydration, I would not say eos is the best – they are a bit waxy and not very emollient.  What I do like is using them as a base for other lip products, since they apply fairly matte and don’t create too slick of a surface for other products to follow my lips.  I use an eos lip sphere every single morning as part of my makeup routine – I do not carry one in my handbag as I find them too bulky.  I want to somehow fashion a dispenser system where a new flavour is dispensed daily from the bottom, and then I put the most recently used one back at the top so I can rotate all the flavours I own, like this:

Visibly Soft is the newest addition to the lip balls family, touted as providing softer lips. I would say that it’s slightly more emollient compared to the regular lip spheres.  I’m just happy that eos finally introduced a Coconut flavour! but why another vanilla / mint flavour? They could have gone with marshmallow for the other flavour, it would have gone well with the “soft” theme.

L to R: Coconut cream, Vanilla Mint
At the time of this post, I’m actually down to only 14 eos lip balls since my oldest and most much-loved flavours, Honeysuckle Honeydew and Sweet Mint, have gone bad and I had to throw them out.  This will ideally teach me to stop accumulating so many lip products – I won’t be getting any more eos lip balms until I’ve used up more of my remaining stash.

L to R: Honeysuckle Honeydew (4+ years old – tossed out) vs Medicated Tangerine (less than a month old)
eos product development team, if you’re reading this, here are concepts for new flavours you need to release:
• Grape
• green Apple
• Pear
• Peach
• Banana

You’re welcome.

Do you own any eos lip balms?  What’s your much-loved flavour?

Lip product Purge of 2016For someone who’s a self-professed NON-lipstick junkie… I seem to own a lot of lip products.  And all of us know that lipsticks don’t have a long lifespan – really, one should be tossing lip products about 18 months after opening.  I’m guilty of keeping mine for MUCH longer than 18 months!…

Sephora Kiss Me BalmI was planning to get this post up for Easter but obviously that didn’t happen. I was trying to tie this product in with an Easter theme because it’s egg shaped: Weak, I know! 😛 I received the super Kisses set for Christmas in my stocking. The set itself is…

Massive PurgeYou may recall that the primary objective of this blog originally was to reduce my beauty stash. ^^’ I had a three-pronged plan: A) stop getting more (No-Buy / Low-Buy) B) use up what I have (empties aka trash Stash) C) get rid of items that I no longer use…
